Steve Hawthorne

Steve’s personal affair with coffee began at an incredibly young age.  Many hours of his youth were spent visiting with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins over a cup of coffee.  His addiction to coffee developed in high school. After spending enough time in coffee shops, he finally started working in one. This led to a career would take him from making lattes behind the counter, to climbing the hills of El Salvador in search of top quality coffees, to spending weeks at a time jet-setting around the world to find unique coffees and build relationships.  Steve learned to appreciate all of the skill and dedication that went into roasting and brewing the perfect cup of coffee as well as the passion and hard work that goes into growing and harvesting coffees around the world. 

Kendra Barron

Kendra is one of Milwaukee's most talented baristas having spent many years honing her craft while training and developing new industry folks along the way. Her career has included everything from slinging lattes behind the counter to directing large, multi-location cafe operations. Kendra is truly one of the best coffee professionals in the city. She is the ever-constant smiling face in the shop, and the operations master ensuring that our day to day business runs smoothly.

A Family Affair

Many hours, many cups of coffee and three beautiful children later we've settled down on Milwaukee's south side.  Shortly after purchasing our home, we realized that we had overlooked one crucial aspect of our new neighborhood...there wasn't a single coffee shop within walking distance.  Eight years later, we went ahead and just opened our own with a goal of bringing top quality, handcrafted coffee to our community in a friendly and accessible manner. Living and working in our neighborhood as been an incredible experience.  Watching families, friends and neighbors gather in our shop to share the business we've worked so hard to build is a pleasure.
